Meet OUR Team

Our team is made up of high school and university students who are passionate about providing equal rights and opportunities for all. We hope that all women can have access to safe menstruation products, and along the way destigmatize the bias around menstruation.

LUCY YU
co-Founder

Lucy Yu is currently a student at New York University’s Stern School of Business and a gender equality advocate who founded GirlsB4Girls after confronting how deeply menstruation stigma can shape girls’ confidence, education, and everyday life. Her conviction was forged across multiple environments, through what she absorbed in the media, what she witnessed in school culture, and most powerfully, what she observed while traveling internationally. In small towns she visited, she saw young girls navigating their periods with confusion, shame, and guilt, often without reliable resources or support. That moment of recognition became a blueprint for action. Lucy built GirlsB4Girls to close both the access gap and the information gap. She began by transforming something commonplace in her own community into a tool for dignity and readiness worldwide, designing customized menstrual supply pouches so girls can store period essentials safely and discreetly. Beyond distribution, she structured the organization around education and normalization, bringing menstruation conversations into schools to replace silence with knowledge, reduce stigma, and equip girls with practical, age-appropriate understanding. At its core, GirlsB4Girls reflects Lucy’s ability to translate empathy into systems, combining product design, community engagement, and school-based learning to support girls globally.

Kelly Yu
CO-founder & President

Kelly Yu is a freshman at Cornell University and the founder and President of GirlsB4Girls, a global organization she launched in high school to advance menstrual hygiene, access to sanitation, and dignity for women and girls in underserved communities. Her leadership stands out for converting urgency into infrastructure. She has built an internationally oriented platform that mobilizes partners, funding, and public engagement into tangible support, moving beyond awareness to execution. With foundations in fine arts and environmental justice, Kelly brings both creative direction and strategic clarity to global impact work. She has established cross-border partnerships with businesses and organizations to help launch innovative initiatives and expand access to essential hygiene resources where they are most needed. She also created a mission-sustaining fundraising model through her fashion brand, Azure, designing t-shirts and tote bags that direct 100 percent of proceeds to GirlsB4Girls’ charitable projects. By integrating global partnerships, scalable fundraising, and values-driven innovation, Kelly has built an expanding international effort with real operational momentum.
